Gloria Koyounian, TATI (thesis pending), E.C.E., BA (hons), BEd is an intern at Art Therapy, Art Smart and is currently accepting new clients.

She is studying at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute. With more than 20 years’ experience supporting the mental, social, and academic development of children and youth in accelerated academic settings. Gloria developed an interest in classroom strategies to facilitate one’s mental wellbeing as the cornerstone for true success. She has extensive experience supporting the growth of individuals through drama, art, and writing. In addition, she has 8 years’ experience advocating for adults with developmental diversities and dual diagnosis living in community settings.

As an art therapy student, she facilitates group art therapy for grief and loss, provides individual support for hospice patients, and has taken part in community art hives, online/in person as well as at a day camp for youth with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis.

Gloria’s therapeutic interests are holistic, playful, collaborative, trauma informed approaches that explore the modalities of Family Therapy, Mindfulness, Spiritual integration, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Sensorimotor art therapy.

Gloria is an artist who enjoys exploring nature, traveling, meditation, Qui-gong, yoga, cooking and connecting with friends and family.
